The main strategic documents that define the objectives of the Regional Operational Program and the relevant details for the key areas of intervention.

The Programming Document (Regional Operational Program) is a strategic document that defines context, objectives, structure, priority axis fund allocation, relevant bodies and internal procedures of the Regional Operational Program. It has been negotiated and agreed upon with the European Commission.

The Framework implementation document of ROP (Complementary Program) includes all the details relevant to the ROP key areas of intervention, as well as the amounts allocated to the projects, the eligibility criteria for requesting funding, eligible projects etc.

The 2007-2013 National Development Plan  is the strategic planning and multiannual financial programming document approved by the Government and developed in a broad partnership that will orient the socio-economic development of Romania in accordance with the European Union Cohesion Policy.

NDP is the document based on which the 2007-2013 National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) was elaborated, representing the strategy agreed upon with the European Commission for the utilization of structural instruments as well as Operational Programs through which these funds will be implemented.

The 2007-2013 National Strategic Reference Framework  is the strategic document of reference for programming the Structural and Cohesion Funds in Romania. This type of document is drawn up by each EU Member State in accordance with the new acquis regarding the Cohesion Policy. The document defines the manner in which the Structural Instruments will be implemented in Romania in the 2007-2013 period.

The 2007-2013 Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Plan  is the fundamental strategic document on the need of financing from European funds and other international or national funds at regional level, being the instrument through which the region promotes its priorities and interests in the economic and social area, representing at the same time the contribution of the region to drawing up the National Development Plan. The BIRDP comprises the socio-economic analysis of the region, the SWOT analysis and the regional strategy.
